Paige Reynolds Art

I am proud to announce that my amazing and talented sister Paige Reynolds will be a featured artist in Dark Beauty Magazine next month (December Issue)!!  This magazine is dedicated to artists who crave dark glamour and focuses on bringing awareness to bold talents from the darker side of the arts community.

I am so proud of my sister for all of her amazing accomplishments in this difficult industry.  There have been many people who have tried to push her away from her dreams and she has been met with a lot of criticism for the controversial nature of her art along the way.  Finally people are starting to recognize and embrace her in the most wonderful ways.

Check out some of her beautiful art below, and head on over to her website to see many more of these remarkable creations!!

Snow Ball

Considering the Gigantor size of my cat, you'd think that he's had his far share of winter experiences.  But no,  you would be wrong, for Toby is just a really fat 1 year old kitty who had never experienced snow until today.

In Advance

I apologize in advance for all friendships, phone calls, events, birthdays, shows, hang outs, sleepovers, dog walks, dinners, coffees, random adventures  and parties that I will have to neglect in the up coming weeks, for it is the end of semester/exam period and I am beyond swamped.

I love you all and will be re-emerging on December 9th to spend time with all of you.

(If you want to find me, I will be hibernating at one of the McGill Libraries)

Note: I will likely procrastinate and update this blog anyways ..................

Bush: True Crime

According to a new campaign against George W. Bush's, his memoir, Decision Points, should be moved to the "True Crime" section of your local bookstore.  Their Facebook group claims that  the book defends several of his criminal policies and is therefore an admission of guilt.

One supporter took these suggestions to a whole new level.  Assuring employees he was from "Regional", this man managed to move almost every copy of Decision Points in to the True Crime section of the store!!  Check out his hilarious article here.

Sneaky Sneakyyy

I tend to be a little bit obsessive when it comes to decorating my house for holidays. Halloween was great! BUT it ended 21 days ago.

..........................................

As Ryan felt that my September15th Halloween decorations were a liiiiiiiiiittttle bit much, I agreed to wait until December to put up the Christmas ones.  Of course this was an unrealistic agreement on my part and I've already started sneaking a few things up here and there...

Anyways, all bets are off now since I can wholly justify decorating for the Holidays since the Oglivy's Christmas window on st.Catherines is finally up!!  I don't actually have any idea what they sell in the store, but the Christmas Window is amazing.

Saddest Day of Life

I had tickets with my amazing friend Liv to the premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 tonight, and due to work and school, I couldn't go.  My childhood dreams are floating away in a cloud of assignments.  I know, this might sound lame, but I am a huge Harry Potter fanatic and this is a sad sad day for me.  I went through some rough times growing up. Hiding behind brick walls and reading books was actually what helped me though a hell of a lot of baaaddd recesses.  Books like Harry Potter helped me to escape the hard stuff and even today, allow me to forget about everything thats going on around me, if only for a little while.

Anywayssssss.... I hope all this stress pays off when i'm older.  Perhaps I'll even make enough money to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park at Orlando Studios!!! (Yes this does exist and yes, I secretly want to outlive my days in the apartment above Ollivander’s Wand shop).

Where The Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

The Best Friends

Over the course of this year, I have discovered what a powerful influence good friends can have on my life.  I've always had trouble meeting people and it took me absolutely forever to let anyone in after moving to Montreal.  Because I waited though, I have found the most amazing and wonderful people who will stay in my life forever. They have raised my confidence levels, stand up for me and whomever I want to become, are ALWAYS there for me, and provide me with the best support system I have ever known.  I just wanted to give a shout out to those of you who make such a difference and who have added so much love to my life.  Without you, I don't know where I would be right now.

NASA Delays Shuttle Launching

Ok so, I realize I'm probably not the person that you go to for the latest  NASA updates.......But I'm taking a Graduate course in Project Management and I've been assigned to a case study that just so happens to be discussing the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster of 2003.  If you don't know what happened, don't worry, neither did I. My primary interests have never really focused on space related material. (And I suppose I wasn't exactly an avid news fan in grade 10...)  Anyways, all things aside, I found this article in the New York Times today and thought it was pretty interesting.... considering.

Essentially, the Discovery shuttle, which has already been delayed three times this year, was grounded again on Friday due to a dangerous hydrogen gas leak.  Thankfully this time, Program and Project Managers decided to address the potentially fatal problem and will not attempt to launch again until all issues are throughly investigated.

The Columbia Space Shuttle disaster could have been avoided if only NASA had followed these simple risk assessment procedures. You've come a long way NASA... Thank god you're tapping in to your database of lessons learned.

Kevin Llewellyn

I just discovered this art last night and had to share. Kevin Llewellyn is an extremely talented artist who originates from Ohio. His work is absolutely remarkable and shows a dark side to which I can relate. Having a family involved quite extensively in this genre of art, I appreciate his work immensely and am drawn to the controversial nature that emanates from his paintings. Check it out!
